Anastasie Musabyemungu
Anastasie Musabyemungu, an M.Sc. in Plant Breeding and Seed Systems, currently a Ph.D. Student in IITA, Nairobi, and registered at the Department of Plant Sciences, at Kenyatta University at Nairobi-Kenya. She is doing her research project at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), hosted by Biosciences for East and Central Africa/ International Livestock Research Institute (BecA / ILRI) hub, Nairobi, Kenya. She has experience of 13 years in Agriculture, research, and extension, and a PhD Student for one and a half years in Plant Sciences specifically in banana genetic engineering. Skills in conventional plant breeding of self and cross-pollinated crops, data collection, data analysis, tissue culture of different crops, and writing manuscripts and posters. Her PhD research focuses on the genetic transformation of banana Rwandan cultivars against banana Xanthomonas wilt to improve banana production in Africa. She has published her MSc work in the Australian Journal of Crop Sciences and the African Potato Association (APA 2019) as first author and three manuscripts as co-author.
