Kipkoech Hillary is a Research Associate at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), East Africa Hub, Nairobi, Kenya, with over six years of experience in molecular biology and plant pathology. He specializes in genomic DNA extraction, gene expression analysis, mutation detection, and sequencing for gene-editing research in crops such as banana and yam. Hillary has previously held key roles at KEPHIS and Crop Nutrition Laboratory Services, contributing to plant disease diagnostics, the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the implementation of quality management systems. He holds a Bachelors degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications focused on plant disease detection and diagnostics. Passionate about scientific innovation, he is dedicated to advancing crop improvement and plant health through cutting-edge molecular research.
