
Duncan N. Waweru
Duncan N. Waweru is a Ph.D. fellow at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), hosted by Biosciences for East and Central Africa International Livestock Research Institute (BecA/ILRI) hub, Nairobi, Kenya. He holds an MSc. Biotechnology degree and has extensive experience in plant tissue culture, Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation, molecular biology techniques, general laboratory techniques, and fieldwork. His main research focus is on the use of modern biotechnology tools to improve food production in Sub-Saharan Africa. His lifetime goal is to have a positive impact on African agriculture to alleviate hunger and reduce poverty hence contributing to the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals number 1 and 2.
